Why July is a great time to visit the Loire Valley in France

We are just about to enter July a month that throws up so many events that you are literally spoilt for choice. Musically you can have classical, jazz, rock, pop, folk even an Irish night! We make no apologies for firstly promoting our local events here in Southern Touraine.  The people of Barrou work very hard every year to bring us 'Les Barrouders' on the banks of the river Creuse, an event that while not Glastonbury, is a credit to the village and its organisers...where else would you get the Beatles and Elvis on the same bill?

Again down to the hard work of the local 'Fete'art Pressignois' and the local community Le Grand-Pressigny presents an evening of music and dancing of a Celtic nature.

The region offers many 'evening spectaculars' ranging from historical re-enactments in grand chateaux to local performances such as the great show presented by all the people (and yes I think they all get involved!) of the small village of Ciran. This year sees the first of a new show being presented around the theme of 'world dance' and as previous presentations have shown, for honest endeavour and entertainment, it is hard to beat!

All this and this isn't mentioning that most Cities towns and villages will have their own Bastille Day celebrations the month certainly goes with a bang!
